When Yesterday we Met…

Rebecca Sharp soprano      Matthew Sharp baritone & cello
Dominic Harlan piano, musical direction

‘I would never, ever have believed that songs could be conveyed so powerfully and enjoyably to an audience of children. An unmitigated triumph of the imagination’.      Ian Bostridge

Buoyed by their rip-roaring success at the Wigmore Hall last year, Dominic and two high-spirited musicians bring their sparkling programme to Roman River.

Harlan is irrepressibly enthusiastic...a terrifically engaging pianist, actor and communicator...terrific fun, and not just for kids.
(The Singer)

From fairy tales and Greek myths to tales of the extraordinary and the everyday, songs have always been a great way to tell stories. Dominic Harlan is joined by two superb singers for a stunningly original fusion of concert, theatre and interactive workshop. The result is a thrilling, hands-on show which guides novices into the magical world of song and challenges connoisseurs to find new and unexpected twists in familiar repertoire, including music by Schubert, Brahms, Rachmaninoff and Harlan...

Bring the whole family and friends as well – the tickets are only £2.50 but anyone over 88 gets a free one!

Matthew Sharp fizzes with energy and communication whether playing cello or singing. He has performed leading roles at Opera North, concertos with some of the major UK orchestras and is artistic director of an ebullient arts festival in Deal.

We advise early booking as usually these concerts are a sellout.
